The behavior of the Chinese Government in Tibet has reasonably produced a scandal in Europe. Can we participate in Olympic Games, which among other things, will honor and glorify China, and recognize it as one of the great global powers to characterize the 21st century? Descargar PDF

Europe is a continent with underlying economic, strategic, diplomatic and demographic problems with common roots. In this century, all these problems have aspects which will be aggravated. Europe’s problem is not only moral but intellectual as well. Descargar PDF

What NATO needs to do is face its own internal problems of relatively careless Americans and extremely impotent European military power. These strengths and weaknesses produce two very distinct images for the world to see. If the great powers of NATO do not deal with this paradox, it will soon become a meaningless alliance, with or without Bucharest and the coming summit. Descargar PDF

The attitude of the Left regarding morality, the church, and traditional values undermine the foundational principles which sustain European democracy. Their actions are too extreme. They are destroying the content of European culture, leaving a larger and larger moral, cultural and historical void all the time. Islam will undoubtedly fill this void.

Javier Solana points out that the situation of Kosovo is unique because it also includes the process of disintegration from Yugoslavia. Who can deny such judicious commentary? It is evident that Southern Ossetia and Nagorno-Karabaj never have been part of Yugoslavia, nor do their inhabitants speak Serbo-Croatian or Albanian. Their history is different. It is that of disintegration from the Soviet Union. The poor Ossetians can’t understand how evident this distinction is and fail to grasp that all disintegration does not lead to the same result, and that what is a reasonable fight in one situation will not be in another. Since March 2004, when Rodríguez Zapatero first came to power, his goal, more than that of the government, has been to change the political regime of Spain. Spaniards voted this past Sunday, and the Popular Party (PP) improved their results from 2004, increasing their liberal-conservative representation. They are now dealing with a somewhat happy defeat, but a defeat nonetheless. There is plenty of time for analysis on the election itself; however, we must immediately look to the effects rather than the causes. What will happen in a Spain whose citizens have supported the deterioration of its Constitution, a pact with ETA and the Spanish hara-kiri economy? Descargar PDF

After March 9, the Government emerging from the ballot box can and must address the security and defense problems our country is experiencing. The state of affairs of our Armed Forces and the strategic milieu we face will demand that the new Government take at least ten measures during its first one-hundred days. We at GEES consider that the measures should include the following: Descargar PDF

In Spain, the crime rate is obviously on the rise under the Zapatero Administration. While the ones in charge mess around with conveniently fabricated numbers and statistics, one thing has become increasingly clear. In recent years, Spaniards have started to feel more and more insecure, not only out in the streets, but within their own homes. Facing the passivity of this Administration, Spaniards see a sort of quiet terror settling in which will most likely escalate.

At the end of this legislative term, we must remember that the Popular Party and the Socialist Party, Rajoy and Zapatero, completely disagree on the way to confront ETA’s terrorism. Hence, in the coming years, the government’s actions regarding ETA depend completely on who wins the general elections. However, beyond moral indignation, it is necessary to be realistic and extremely clear; in the general elections of March, Spaniards will have to choose what kind of response they want their government to have towards terrorism.
